A rectangle-plan hollow brick, cut with two parallel horizontal slits, made thinking about the plywood sculptures of Donald Judd: a plain volume marked by repetition rather than ornament. The Yellowbird glaze pulls thin at the edges, exposing the clay underneath, so the form reads as a line drawing as much as a solid object.
Slip-cast, then cut and assembled by hand. Shown in Yellowbird glaze on a tan clay body. An E26 socket on top holds the shade light; a G9 socket sits inside the base.
This piece is designed for small production runs.
