A rectangle-plan hollow brick, the pattern of openings in which are inspired by the Tomb of Eurysaces the Baker in Rome — the structure better known by the gate built around it, the Porta Maggiore. Like the tomb's distinctive facade, the form here works through repetition and structure rather than ornament.
Slip-cast, then cut and assembled by hand. Shown in Emily's Turquoise on a white stoneware body. An E26 socket on top holds the shade light; a G9 socket sits inside the base.
This piece is designed for small production runs.
