SANAA Lamp
A square-plan form sliced into horizontal slabs, alternates one warped slightly from the one below — a indirect reference to SANAA's New Museum building on the Bowery in New York. Here the same logic is compressed into a lamp base: the offsets are small, the gaps between the slabs let light escape from the inside in horizontal lines.
Slip-cast, then cut and assembled by hand. Shown in Oregano glaze on a white stoneware body. An E26 socket on top holds the shade light; a G9 socket sits inside the base.
This piece can be made in multiples, in any glaze currently in the studio.
