A square-plan hollow brick, cut with a series of parallel vertical slits down each face, then opened — the resulting ribbons pushed outward so the sides bow away from the center. The silhouette that emerges from this reads as classical, almost urn-like, but it comes entirely from the manipulation of a flat-sided form rather than from shaping the clay itself.
Slip-cast, then cut and assembled by hand. Shown in Oregano glaze on a white stoneware body. An E26 socket on top holds the shade light; a G9 socket sits inside the base.
This piece can be made in multiples, in any glaze currently in the studio.
