A tall rectangular slab, cut and worked using several techniques at once. The horizontal slots down one edge are part of the same cutting system used throughout this body of work — conservative, symmetrical, regular. The white circles on the front and back are wax resist; the thin black line scored around each one is Mishima. One open circular cutout near the top breaks the grid and lets light through the form itself.
Slip-cast, then cut, scored, and finished by hand. Shown in Silky Turquoise — a glaze that pulls the surface toward seafoam where it thins. Available in any glaze currently in the studio. An E26 socket sits on top for the shade light.
This piece began as a prototype and can be made in a small batch or as a small production run.
