This, the fourth exploration in the Parliament series continues the investigation of Lou Kahn's spatial strategies while developing new relationships between openings and mass. The rich amber glaze creates a warmer, more intimate reading of the architectural forms, shifting the emphasis from the cool monumentality of earlier versions to something more domestic and inviting.

The openings maintain Kahn's essential logic—geometric voids that puncture solid walls to create controlled passages for light. A circular opening anchors the composition while angular cuts create dynamic counterpoints, establishing the rhythm between presence and absence that defines the series. The amber surface treatment softens these interventions, making them feel less like architectural incisions and more like natural formations within the ceramic body.

This iteration demonstrates how surface treatment can fundamentally alter the reading of identical formal strategies. Where earlier Parliament lamps emphasized the building's concrete brutalism, this version suggests the warm interior spaces that Kahn's openings were designed to illuminate. The glaze flows into recesses and around edges, creating subtle gradations that enhance the play between solid and void.

The lamp continues the essential Parliament investigation—translating Kahn's understanding of how architecture can serve light—while proving that the same formal DNA can generate distinctly different emotional and visual experiences through material choices.
