A rectangle-plan hollow form built around an inside/outside relationship: the outer face of the brick is left unglazed, while the interior is glazed in forest green. The top edge is cut into a row of small, angular leaf shapes, peeled back and folded outward — so the green glaze that lives on the inside of the form is revealed where the leaves bend open, and along the cut edges, where the wall's thickness shows. What's normally hidden becomes the visible surface.
Slip-cast, then cut and finished by hand. Shown in unglazed white stoneware exterior with forest green glaze on the interior.
This piece is designed for small production runs.
