The piece where the Ribbons idea became its own subject. In the Art Deco Lamp, slicing the brick was a means to an end — the cuts supported the overall design. Here, the slices and the ribbons they create are the design. One-inch rows were laid out across the brick and the cuts followed only those lines, with nothing else added.
Slip-cast, then cut and assembled by hand. Shown in Emily's Turquoise; can be made in any glaze currently in the studio. An E26 socket sits on top for the shade light.
This piece is one of a kind. A larger number could be made, but each would need to be unique — a limited series, not a repeatable edition.
