A rectangle-plan hollow form, inspired by the 2008 Beijing Olympics stadium designed by Herzog & de Meuron with Ai Weiwei — the "Bird's Nest." The reference shows up in how the openings at the top are arranged: irregular, woven-looking, more structural lattice than ornament.
Slip-cast, then cut and finished by hand. Shown in red glaze on a white stoneware body.
