A study in geometric restraint, the 1PP Lamp combines a brutalist cubic base with a graceful tapered shade. The 5" × 5" × 5" base features a grid of precisely cut openings that transform the structure into a light diffuser - solid mass punctured to reveal inner illumination.
The ceramic shade rises above the base on a square tube, creating a floating effect. Transitioning from a 5" circular base to a 4" square top, the shade's subtle taper adds visual lift while maintaining architectural discipline.
Both base and shade are glazed to complement each other, creating a unified composition that explores the interplay between geometric purity and functional lighting. The result feels like a collaboration between Viennese modernists - combining Loos's ornament-free rationalism with Olbrich's sensitivity to proportion and form.
Two independent light sources create versatile ambiance: light escapes through the base's grid of openings via a WiFi-controlled, dimmable, tunable G9 bulb, while the shade houses a standard E26 bulb for directed task lighting. Each can be controlled separately for layered illumination.
